I am an author, mom, and let’s just say, when you’re a mom, the list goes on and on about all the different hats we wear. LOL! I will not bore you with that list.
Like some of you, I ignored my mom and other adults who tried to steer me into pursuing a career related to my creative talents. After my attempts to avoid writing, I always found myself right back at square one with a notebook and pen. Who knew when I was 15 yrs old that my mom knew what she was talking about? Lol! After all, when we were teenagers, we knew everything, and our parents knew nothing. Right?
I wrote my first self-published book in 2016 titled A Cup of Encouragement: 31 Essentials for Uplifting Your Soul. This book was written to read as a daily motivation for 31 days.
I am excited to announce that my second self-published book will be released on September 22, 2020. My latest book is titled Instant Single Mom: This Was Not The Dream. In this book I describe the gut punch of becoming a widow in a split second and how faith and determination helped me stand again and fight toward victory in a new normal. This story is about experiencing unthinkable pain and heartbreak while mustering up enough courage to move forward on the road to uncertainty.
“As long as you’re breathing, you’re getting older. Period. Now you can choose to just breathe daily and coast through this journey we call life, or you can choose to LIVE!” Over ten years ago I delivered this message to a group of high school students. Prior to that day and from that day forward, I continue to live by and deliver this message to countless people nationwide.
So many people just live in a mindset of complacency. This is dangerous. Complacency, according to Dictionary.com, is “a feeling of quiet pleasure or security, often while unaware of some potential danger, defect, or the like; self-satisfaction or smug satisfaction with an existing situation, condition, etc”. For the sake of living out your purpose in life, you should not give in to the state of complacency. Pursue your purpose, always! You owe it to yourself and to others.
Having a wrong mindset can lead to complacency. When you are thinking and dwelling on negative thoughts, complacency secretly sets in. Before you realize it, other areas in your life are impacted like your health, relationships, career, and business. I am here to show you how to fight! Fight off those negative thoughts and live. Live your life to the
fullest!
I experienced the unthinkable in 2019. My husband’s cancer diagnosis had changed my marriage as I knew it. His sudden death after treatment complications left me alone to raise my young daughter and son, hundreds of miles away from family. The gut punch of becoming a widow in a split second and how faith and determination helped me stand again and fight toward victory in a new normal was founded on the principle above. I chose to live. I’m available to share my story via media interviews and speaking engagements.
We can discuss:
* The institution of marriage as a precious gift
* How to allow yourself grace to heal through trusting God and self-care
* How to move past your pain to embrace better days ahead.
* How to overcome and thrive
* How to develop a rhythm in your life and business
“Pursue your dreams”, that’s what I use to hear from family, friends, and mentors. I, like some of you, dreamed of being married and becoming a wife and mom. I remember praying and waiting for seven years for God to send me my husband. Once, I became fed up with wrong relationships. Then, like a blink of an eye, my soon to be husband appeared.
“What do you do when ‘til death do us part’ comes much earlier than anticipated?” A dream that was not to be had. I fell in love, had children, worked on my marriage, and settled in for the long haul knowing we could get through anything together. Then life threw us a curveball and the unimaginable happened.
I am no stranger to the ups and downs of life. At times, I have missed the mark. I wanted to give in to the sadness or the anger that comes because of pain. “Life will have its trials and challenges, trauma and pain. You cannot let it paralyze you.”
I am here to advise and coach you through the limiting beliefs that can keep you stuck negatively in a place in time. You were not created to live in a world of brokenness and defeat. You were created for much more. It is time to restore hope. It is time to pursue your purpose in life. It is time to expect opportunities and favor to overtake you at every
turn! Let’s go!
Life will have its trials and challenges, trauma and pain. You cannot let it paralyze you. In Instant Single Mom: This Was Not The Dream, I share my personal story of finding love, lessons I have learned along the way, and how I have been able overcome through tough times.
